Image of the Week #31: Abercrombie & Fitch in the 1910s
What Is It
An advertisement from the Wellesley News, the student newspaper of Wellesley College, from the late 1910s.Why I Find It Interesting
There's not much to say here besides the fact that I didn't realize Abercrombie & Fitch was such an old company. I assumed it was some company that emerged in the 1980s or something, but apparently it is much older than that. The fact that they are catering to middle and upper-class white women though is not particularly surprising, given their history of race issues. This submission is part of the Image of the Week series.
